What is Complete blood count Test Lab Test (Laboratory Test)?
A complete blood count (CBC) is a blood test to evaluate the count of cells that make up blood. Those components are- blood platelets, red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit and white blood cells. CBC test can done as a routine check up to see if all the cells in the body are in appropriate proportion, to check if you have anemia or to check how other medical disorders are affecting your blood.
CBC is a simple test and requires only few minutes. The process involves taking a blood sample from the individual’s artery or vein by a laboratory technician. Then the blood sample is sent to the lab for investigation or review.
